| These
pages were created by 6th grade students at the Park School of Baltimore . The content
comes from an interdisciplinary course on Baltimore taught by language arts,
social studies, science and technology teachers at Park School. Each student's
"eportfolio" includes a science page and a language arts/social studies
page that reflects research about some aspect of Baltimore. Students
in 6-1 and 6-3 visited, photographed and wrote about murals in Baltimore
City. Students in 6-2 researched an aspect of Baltimore related to
Frederick Douglass. Students in 6-4 chose a quote by Frederick Douglass
to analyze and illustrate. All students performed water quality tests
on Moore's Branch, a creek that runs through the Park School campus . They
graphed and analyzed their results. The web pages were assembled in technology class using Netscape Composer. Each student learned how to use a scanner. Students had to find external links that were credible and related in some way to the topics on their pages. All of the artwork on each page is original so that students would not violate copyright laws. This project represents several months of hard work and we are all very proud of what the students accomplished! Although each page was carefully edited by at least one teacher,
please remember that this reflects the work of each individual 6th grade
student. |
