It's Scaledrawing Time!

 

This is my 1:1 and 1:2 drawing of a house in Mount Vernon. The way I got the exact measurements of my buildiing was by meauring everything from what was the width of the windows to what was the length left over under a window. This is how you make an exact scale drawing: You measure everything including the windows, doors, height, and width. This is how you make a 1 by 1 and a 1 by 1 scale drawing of a building.

1. You have to draw a line around the building that you are drawing.

2. You have to cut your picture out and glue it on to a piece of graph paper.

3.You have to draw a line around the edge of the building. Then you take a marker and number all of the windows. You put a number right on top of the window.

4. Measure the width and the height of the building in millimeters and mark the mesurements on the building. Then you must measure the windows and the doors. Place all of these measurements on the building. Also you should measure the distance from the bottom to the top of the windows and the doors. You should mark these distances on a piece of paper.

5. After you have measured all of the windows and doors, you should draw an exact picture of the building. Remember to use all of your measurements.

6. After you finish drawing the 1 by 1 scale drawing draw a 1 by 2 drawing of the building. A 1 by 2 scale drawing is double 1 by 1, which is just doubling the measurements.

That is how you make a 1 by 1 and 1 by 2 scale drawing!
